Monoflip is a free online property board game for 2 to 8 players. Here is everything you need to know, from your first roll to your last-chance comeback.
Be the last traveller standing. Buy cities, build on them and charge rent until everyone else runs out of money.
Roll two dice and move. Roll doubles and you go again, but three doubles in a row send you straight to prison.
Passing Start pays your $200 salary. Landing exactly on Start pays $300.
Land on a city nobody owns and you can buy it at its price. Pass, and it goes to auction: everyone bids in steps of $10, $50 or $100 against a short clock, and the highest bid wins.
Land on a city someone else owns and you pay them rent.
There are 22 cities in 8 sets, from every inhabited continent: Egypt, Australia, Brazil, Japan, India, Germany, China, USA. The bigger the economy, the pricier the set.
Own every city in a set and its base rent doubles. Then build: up to four houses on each city, then a hotel. You build evenly across the set, and every building raises the rent steeply.
There are four airports. Their rent grows with how many you own: $25, $50, $100 or $200. Own all four and you can take each one international for $300, doubling its rent.
Surprise cards are chaos: teleport anywhere, a hostile takeover of an opponent’s city, a body swap, Robin Hood stealing from the richest player, a rent surge, fines, or the Nuke.
Lost Treasure cards are always good news: cash, a prison pass, a rent-free week, a builder’s discount, a free house or a free plot of land.
Draw the Nuke and the whole table has 20 seconds to vote on who gets hit. A random city of theirs goes back to the bank, or their whole set if they own all of it.
An anti-nuke, bought in secret for twice the set’s house price, blocks one nuke on that set. Nobody else knows you have it.
The two GST squares take a share of your cash: 20% on Earnings GST and 40% on Premium GST. With the Vacation pot rule on, that money piles up on Vacation for whoever lands there next.
Landing on Vacation also means you skip your next turn.
In prison, roll doubles to get out, pay the $50 fine or use a prison pass. After three turns the fine is paid for you. Owners in prison still collect rent, unless the host turns that off.
Trade with anyone at any time: cash, cities without buildings, prison passes, and free landings on each other’s cities. Or post an open trade to the whole table for 30 seconds and accept the best bid.
Bots trade too, and they go after full sets.
Short of cash? Mortgage a city for half its price. It earns no rent until you buy it back, for the mortgage plus 10%.
If you owe more than you have, sell buildings, mortgage or trade your way back to $0. If you can’t, you get one Russian roulette comeback: three of six chambers are loaded and every pull is a fresh spin. One click brings you back with $500, two win back half your cities, three win back all of them. A bullet, and you’re out.
